| 6906 | Veteran Insurance Man, Peter Dill, Park Avenue, Dies Peter M. Dill, 76 years old, a veteran insurance broker of Indianapolis, died yesterday at his home, 3345 Park Avenue. Mr. Dill had been engaged in the insurance business in the city since 1890. Prior to that time he had been prosecuting attorney of Shelby and Johnson counties, and had practiced law in Franklin and Indianapolis. Born in Morgan county, Mr. Dill moved to Shelby county when a young man. After serving as prosecutor of Shelby and Johnson counties in the early eighties he moved to Franklin. He came to Indianapolis in 1888 as the law partner of Myron Williams. In 1889 he practiced law in Wichita, Kas. In 1890 he returned to Indianapolis and entered the life insurance business, being first associated with the Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York. He later represented other companies in Indianapolis and took the agency for the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company in February, 1908. He was local manager for this company at the time of his death. For thirty-two years he had been a member of the central Christian Church, and had served as a deacon in that congregation. He also was a member of the Life Underwrtiers Association. Mr. Dill was the author of a umber of poems which have appeared in various magazines. His "My Indiana Hills" was contained in a book of contributions from Indiana authors several years ago. He was married to Miss Flora Frazier June 21, 1881. Mrs. Dill and a duaghter, Mrs. Edith Dill Ford of Indianapolis, and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild are survivors. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery. | Dill, Peter M. (I6571)

Cas Det 719 Demol. Group last assgd. 349 Inf. 88th Div. A.E.F. Victor had gray eyes , brown hair, fair complexion and was 5'10.5" tall that year. He was not wounded in service and was given a Honorable Discharge on June 11, 1919. Viictor shipped home from Camp Dodge, IA. He was given a Victory Medal in 1920, by mail. Picture and info in "In The World War 1917-1918-1919 Saunders Co . NE" He was in company 'A' 349th inf. His S.S. number was 507-44-3397. He was a member of the American Legion in Wahoo, NE. On his WWI card he said he was born in Ceresco NE. and was single and working for his father on the farm. Pearson was born Nov. 15, 1938, to his parents Elmer and Sophia (Heiser) Pearson in Lincoln. He attended the Ceresco Public Schools, graduating in 1956. He was active in the Boy Scouts, church youth groups and high school music groups. He attended Kearney State College, worked at the family automotive repair business, took computer training in Omaha, and then worked as a computer operator in California and Lincoln before returning to California. He began doing carpentry woeveral years ago. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. Survivors are a brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Marlene Pearson of Ceresco; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Marlin Olson of Wahoo; a nephew, four nieces; two grand-nieces, uncles; aunts; cousins; and special friends Melanie Woond Chris Shultes. | 6926 | WAHOO WASP - JUNE 20, 1929 FARMER TAKE HIS OWN LIFE TUESDAY MORNING BODY OF ARTHUR WALIN FOUND HANGING IN BARN OVERWORK AND ILL HEALTH LED CERESCO MAN TO TAKE LIFE Overworked by his attempt to farm 240 acres without help and ill health led Arthur Walin, 29, farmer of Ceresco to take his own life early Tuesday morning, according to Sheriff's officers. Walin's body was found hanging in a rafter in his barn at 7 o'clock Tuesday morning by his wife Christiana, when she went to tell her husband breakfast was ready. He rose early Tuesday morning and went to the barn to do the chores, his wifd officers. She summoned Dr. Noyes of Ceresco. When he arrived, he pronounced Walin dead and notified Sheriff Hensell. Walin had been dead several hours, Dr. Noyes said. In addition to his wife, Walin leaves a 2-year old child, his father and mother, five sisters and two brothers all living in Lancaster County. The body was removed to the C. E. Ericson mortuary at Wahoo. ARTHUR LAWRENCE WALIN - NEWSPAPER AND DATE UNKNOWN Mr. Arthur Lawrence Walin was born at Ceresco, Nebr. February 10, 1899. He became a charter member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, when it was organized just ten years ago, and has been a faithful member of said church until his death. On February 23, 1927, he married Miss Christiana Heiser, and from that time Mr. and Mrs. Walin have made their home four miles south-west of Ceresco. A baby boy was born to them February 1, 1928.Our departed friend has always lived a consistent Christian life. He has loved and used the word of God faithfully. Of late his health has failed, and his suffering has been far greater than we can realize. During these weeks his good wife stood by his side and strengthened and comforted him with the word of God. Mr. Walin passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 1929, at the age of 30 years, 4 months and 7 days. He leaves to mourn his departure the widow, Mrs. Arthur Walin and little Stanley Leroy; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Walin, the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Brodd; brothers, Carl and Edward; sisters, Mrs. Theo Anderson, Mrs. Herbert Nelson, Mrs. Henry Heiser, Mrs. Willie Widman, Mrs. Edward Heiser, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services wer conducted from the C. L. Walin home at 2:00 o'clock and from the Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, when Rev. Peterson spoke on these words from Psalm 39:13 - "Oh, spare me that I may recover strength, before I go hence and be no more." The pallbearers were Herman Walin, Martin Trued, Clemens Brodd, Herbert Brodd, Harold Brodd, and Herman Pearson. Burial was made in the Swedeburg Lutheran Cemetery. | 6928 | WALLACE HANSON DIES Many hearts were deeply greived when the sad news were passed from friend that Wallace Hanson died Monday. While he had been a long and patient sufferer for the past three years and that he had only a short time left on this earth, yet it came as a shock, the news of his departure. Our departed brother and friend, Wallace Edward Hanson, was born at Ceresco on the 30th day cf June 1903. He was confirmed In the Mission church of which he was a member since the 23rd of June 1918. He was a graduate from the Ceresco High School in 1922 and during his high school years, took an active part in the activities of the school. Three years ago his health began to fail him, and during htis time he had been a patient suffere and a brave fighter against the inevitable. He spent some time in Arizona in hopes of recovering, but returned home about three months ago and has since been under the loving and tender care of his parents and friends. The last summons came at his home on Monday, November 2nd, 1925, at the age of 22 years, 4 months and 2 days. It is hard at times for us mortals to understand God's ways, but we know that all things work together for the good, to them that love the Lord. He leaves to mourn his departure besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hanson, seven sisters and three brothers, and a large host of relatives and friends. May God help and strengthen our bereaved friends this hour of sorrow and grief. Funeral services were held from teh home at one o'clock and at the Mission church at 1:30. Rev. J.A. Jones officiating.A male quartet sang several selections and Rev. Jones also rendered a vocal solo. Mesrs Carl and Phillip Mostrom, Alden Nelson, Reuben Carlson, Herbert Hallberg and Elmer Johnson, acted as pallbearers. Interment was made in the Swedeburg cemetery. A letter of condolence was received from Mrs. Hanson's sister, living in Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl T. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. sent a telegram to the bereaved family.
